JC Mont-Fort ready to build 21-turbine wind farm in Corsica

JC Mont-Fort, through its subsidiary Eco Delta, has obtained the necessary permits to begin construction of the Meria wind project located in the municipalities of Méria and Morsiglia, in the Haute-Corse region of Corsica.

Studies for the Meria wind farm began in 2004, with the installation of measuring masts to accurately evaluate the site’s wind potential. Following detailed environmental, regulatory, and technical assessments, the final project design consists of 21 wind turbines, each with a capacity of 1 MW, distributed across two separate grid connections.

Once operational, the wind farm will generate renewable energy under a 20-year power purchase agreement (PPA).

This wind energy project complements Eco Delta’s existing renewable initiatives on the island, notably the 4.5 MWp solar farm in Méria, which has been operational since its inauguration in May 2013.

Both projects underline JC Mont-Fort and Eco Delta’s long-term commitment to Corsica’s energy transition, significantly contributing to the diversification and sustainability of the island’s electricity supply.
