Aeolus and EDF have acquired the Katiola solar project, a 50 MW solar development in Côte d’Ivoire, from renewable energy developer JC Mont-Fort. The transaction was completed in January 2026, with the two buyers set to take the project forward through a partnership.
Originated and developed by JC Mont-Fort through its early development phase, the project now moves into the hands of Aeolus and EDF, whose combined technical, financial and operational expertise will support its progress toward construction and operation. For JC Mont-Fort, the sale marks another step in its strategy of maturing high-quality renewable projects and transferring them to long-term owners.
The transaction reflects the growing appetite of international investors for renewable energy assets in West Africa and highlights Côte d’Ivoire’s attractiveness as a leading regional energy market. It also illustrates the role played by independent developers such as JC Mont-Fort in originating and maturing renewable energy projects across the region.
